Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Food was excellent. I tried stuffed clams and Zander fillet (pictures attached). Both were so delicious. Be aware that clams are much smaller than they look like in the pictures. My waitress was great and able to communicate with me in English which could a big challenge in France :) Prices are a little bit above average compared to portion size. But you will not regret."
"La Loco, located in the heart of Nantes, is a restaurant that should not be missed. We visited for dinner and found it easily accessible, with convenient parking available right in front of the restaurant, which is free after 19:00. Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the inviting atmosphere. The spacious interior, filled with natural light from the large windows, creates a warm and welcoming ambiance. A bartender skillfully preparing cocktails added to the lively environment. We started with a Moscow Mule as an appetizer, and it was exceptionally delicious, perfectly setting the tone for the evening. We were promptly seated, and our order was taken without delay. For our meal, we chose the lobster risotto and the roasted duck with potatoes. Accompanying our dishes, we selected a white wine recommended by our server, which you can see in the attached photos. Both dishes were outstanding—the duck was incredibly flavorful, and the risotto was perfectly al dente, generously served with tender lobster. The recommended wine was exceptional, offering a delightful complement to our meal. For dessert, we opted for the pineapple carpaccio, which was also delicious. Overall, I would rate La Loco a solid 5 stars and would not hesitate to return on my next visit to Nantes. The total cost for the evening, including dessert, wine, dinner, and a cocktail, was 90€"
"Nice resturant, service was a little slow. Despite saying online that they were open, they infact were not at around 4.30/5pm. We had to hang around for a couple hours before we could eat at 7pm. The grand marnier soufflé dessert was delicious! Worth the 15 min wait. I believe they are known more for their seafood, our friends had some and said it was delicious. Myself and partner didn't as we didn't fancy it."
"Two solid meals before heading to Mont Saint-Michel We dined at La Loco twice — once for lunch, and once for dinner — before our trip to Mont Saint-Michel. The experience much better than expected — classic French brasserie food, warm atmosphere, and solid execution all around. Lunch was casual but satisfying: a platter of oysters on ice, a hearty steak-frites, and a quick crème brûlée. Later in the evening, we returned for something a bit more elaborate — lobster and the risotto both great. For a brasserie so close to the station, the evening service and ambiance leaned toward fine dining, with warm lighting and elegantly presented dishes that exceeded expectations. Tips: Oysters and seafood mains are fresh and generously portioned."
"Would highly recommend the seafood. It is extremely fresh and really delicious. The staff were really friendly and accommodating especially since I couldn’t speak French. He also made appropriate recommendations. Would definitely visit again!"
"Found this place talking to an Uber driver and the nearby Novotel hotel front. I stopped by for lunch and was impressed. The food was solid all round. Ordered a St Jacques and grilled Zander. Both dishes were top notch. Waitstaff were attentive and efficient. So, highly recommend you pay this place a visit if you happen to be visiting Nantes and staying near the riverside."
"I practically never write reviews, but now I had too.. Wauw, we spend our last evening of our family vacation in Nantes. It was one of the best dinners we had in France. It looks fancy, it is fancy, but very welcoming for our kids as well. The staff was fantastic. Adeline welcomed us at a beautiful table and made a fantastic wine and dessert recommendation! :) Food & drinks came fast, but not too fast. And every single dish was delicious! Adeline even noticed our son was hungry and asked if his food should maybe come with our appetizers! And when the bread basket was empty, she filled it up again! The other male waiter (don’t know his name) was great as well. He took the kids inside to let them hold a living lobster.. This place made the end of our vacation perfect!! Thanks to the service (Adeline and the other waiter) and the good food, briefly the whole team! We will definitely go back when in Nantes again!"
"Amazing restaurant! The decor is exciting and the atmosphere is convivial. It is perfect for both a night with friends as well as a festive lunch. The staff are skilled, friendly and accommodating. The food is an excellent array to suit any taste: vegetarian, burgers, sausages, meat cuts, fish, and the signature sea food. An absolutely fabulous place if you wish to experience the taste of Nantes."
